Parnngurr was a very important site in the Pugiman (bushman) days as there was a permanent yinta (water hole) there.  The artist used to camp there with her family when she was younger, they would meet up with a lot of their other family there.  They would all come together before travelling to other places.  This is where the artist and her family were picked up and a big mob taken to the mission in Jigalong.  there is now a community built out near this yinta.
