Old Days in Ernabella
Niningka paints about the early days of the Ernabella Mission. Anangu still lived in a wiltja (shelter) in their family group. Niningka says "Before, we were always nikidi (naked, no clothes), and when the whitefellas came we started to wear clothes and the community shared a truck we all went bush in. They built a church and we started going to church and singing gospel songs. Later, more people go Toyotas, and we could go hunting and travel to other places to visit family. It was a good time".
