Typical of the artist's emphasis of movement she describes rivers in flood and the wind in the spinifex - evidence of the presence that the spirit of the dreaming remains alive in country. This painting shows an area of the artist's traditional country in the east Kimberley region of northern Australia. Flowing through the centre of the painting is the Keep River joined by the smaller tributaries of the "wet season flood time". There are rocky outcrops with caves in this area. These are the places where people lived during the "wet".
